👋 Just a heads-up!
The Table of Contents feature is currently available only for users with Premium or Smore for Teams accounts. Currently, it works only with newsletters created in the New Editor. It will not appear in newsletters built using the Classic Editor.
Over the years, we’ve listened closely to your feedback and feature requests, and we’re excited to share that many of them are now built into our New Editor!
Better yet, the New Editor is available to everyone, across all plans (yes, even the Free Plan 🎉). Check out the guide below to learn how to create a new newsletter or convert an existing one in the New Editor.
✍🏼 Edit in the New Editor
-
Go to your Newsletter Library and locate a newsletter created in the Classic Editor. Then, hover your cursor over the newsletter thumbnail.
- After clicking “Options,” a menu will appear on your newsletter thumbnail.
-
Click “Edit in New Editor.” Your newsletter will automatically open in the New Editor.
⭐️ Create a Newsletter in New Editor
- Log in to your Smore account. Find the "Start a Newsletter" button at the top of the screen.
- Hover your cursor over the "Start a Newsletter" button.
- You will see two options appear in the drop-down menu: "New editor" and "Classic editor." Click on "New editor".
- Start editing your newsletter.
- A brand new template will automatically open in the New Editor.
𝌞 How to use the Table of Contents
1. Add “Title” sections to your newsletter
Organize your content by adding Title sections. In the Editor, go to Add Content and click Title. Place the Title where you’d like it in your newsletter, and repeat this step as many times as needed.
2. Select which Titles appear in the Table of Contents
While in Edit mode, you’ll see the Table of Contents on the left-hand side of your newsletter. It automatically organizes based on your Titles. Hover over each Title to choose whether to Show or Hide it in the Table of Contents.
3. Publish and preview your newsletter
When you’re ready, click the blue Publish newsletter button in the upper-right corner of the Editor. Then click Preview to see how your newsletter and Table of Contents will appear to your recipients.
4. Decide whether to display the Table of Contents
Use the toggle under the Add Content menu to turn the Table of Contents on or off for your newsletter.
