Resources & FAQs
Q: Why can’t I access Smore at my school?
Some schools or districts restrict access to certain websites if they are not included on a pre-approved list.
If you believe this is the case at your school or district, please contact your IT department and request that they unblock www.smore.com.
If you or your IT department need additional help, reach out to us at support@smore.com.
Q: Why isn’t anyone at my school or district receiving my emails?
If you see a red “X” next to your entire contact list—and all of your recipients share the same school domain, your school’s spam filters may be blocking Smore emails.
👉 We recommend contacting your school or district’s IT department and asking them to whitelist Smore’s domain and IP addresses.
Q: What IPs should my school unblock?
Your school can unblock the following domains:
mailgun.smore.com
users.smore.com
Smore.com
IP addresses:
143.55.224.105
143.55.227.140

Once your IT department has unblocked the IP addresses and domains, your recipients should begin receiving Smore emails.
Q: Can I use a listserv instead of importing my contacts into Smore?
Yes, you can use a listserv, but there are two important things to keep in mind:
-
Unsubscribe risk Because of how listservs group email addresses, if a single recipient chooses to unsubscribe or block Smore emails, they can inadvertently unsubscribe the entire listserv.

- Analytics limitations: Using a listserv will affect your newsletter’s Analytics, making the engagement data less accurate.
While it’s possible to use a listserv, we strongly recommend importing your contacts directly into Smore for more reliable results and accurate tracking.
Q: Can I change the “From” email address?
No. At this time, the “From” email address cannot be customized. All newsletters are sent from [username]@users.smore.com. We do this to:
- Ensure higher deliverability rates
- Allow Smore to track the delivery and performance of your emails
