With Smore for Teams, you can create Brand Kits to streamline your team’s communications and strengthen your community’s brand recognition. Brand Kits make it easy for everyone to design consistent, professional newsletters that reflect your school or district’s identity.
Follow the steps below to create your first brand kit:

Open the Management Dashboard

Click the “Brand Kit” tab

Select “Add a Brand Kit”
- Upload your logos

You can upload up to 4 logos.

Set one as the default logo, or remove/edit a logo by hovering over it and selecting the option you need.

Choose a theme from the dropdown menu.

Select your design options:
- Backgrounds: Upload custom images (1500 × 1500 px recommended) or choose from our library. You can add up to 8 backgrounds. Learn more about custom backgrounds here.
- Colors: Pick up to 4 colors.
- Fonts: Choose up to 2 fonts.

Create your Kit Button
- Give your Brand Kit a name (e.g., Smoreville Elementary’s Branded Template).
- Choose a thumbnail color. This will appear as the background color of the kit’s button in the Editor.

Save your Brand Kit
- Preview your kit first by clicking Preview, then click Save Brand Kit.
How to Edit & Delete a Brand Kit:
- Open your Management Dashboard
- Click the Design Kit tab
- Hover over the Brand Kit you’d like to edit or delete
- Choose Edit or Delete:
- Edit: You’ll return to the Create Your Brand Kit page, where you can make changes.
- Delete: A confirmation message will appear. Click Delete again to permanently remove the Brand Kit.
FAQs
How many Brand Kits can I create?
You can create up to 15 Brand Kits per team.
How does my team access Brand Kits?
When creating a newsletter, team members can select from available Brand Kits in the Theme dropdown menu. Learn more about choosing a theme here.
How many logos can I add?
Each Brand Kit supports up to 4 logos. Members can choose from any uploaded logos when applying the kit in the Editor.
Do I have to add a logo?
No. If no logo is uploaded, team members can add their own.
What does “default logo” mean?
The default logo automatically appears when a Brand Kit is applied, but members can switch to any of the uploaded logos.
How many backgrounds can I add?
You can upload or select up to 8 backgrounds total.
How do team members choose a background?
In the Editor, members can click Background to view and apply the options you’ve provided.
How many colors can I add?
Each Brand Kit can include up to 4 colors.
Can I upload my own custom colors?
Not at this time. To ensure consistency across teams, only Smore’s available color options can be used. We recognize the importance of custom colors and may add this feature in the future.
How many fonts can I add?
Each Brand Kit supports up to 2 fonts.
Will the Brand Kit name be visible in newsletters?
No. The name of the Brand Kit is only visible to your team and will not appear in the newsletter itself.
